A Brief History About Airtel Nigeria

Airtel Networks Limited (Airtel Nigeria) is a leading mobile telecommunications company in Nigeria. According to the Subscribers statistics released by Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on 30 August 2019, Airtel Nigeria has 26.8% mobile telephone market share and 46.8 million subscribers. The company is a member of Airtel Africa, the holding firm for Bharti Airtel’s operations in 14 countries in Africa.

The company was founded in 2001 as Econet Nigeria and was awarded Digital Mobile License (DML) for communication service in Nigeria. It made history on August 5, 2001 by becoming the first telecommunications service provider to launch commercial GSM services in Nigeria. In 2004, Vodacom took charge of the company as management changed hands. Later in 2004, Vee Networks took the reins of the company and became known as Vmobile. In May 2006, Vmobile was acquired by Celtel. In 2008, Zain Group, another telecommunications company acquired all Celtel International’s shares of over $3 billion. As a result of this acquisition, all operations of Celtel Africa was rebranded from Celtel to Zain. In 2010, Bharti Airtel, the parent company of Airtel Nigeria, completed the acquisition of Zain Group’s Africa business in a $10.7 billion transaction.

Job Summary

  • Implement and Monitor Service Delivery strategy in assigned showroom to ensure that Customer base within this territory enjoy remarkable positive in-store experience at all contacts with complete query resolution.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in a Customer Service environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good analytic, report writing and problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of business processes
  • Good knowledge of customer administrative systems – REMEDY, TABS, MINSAT, EXCEL etc.

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • To interface with the Telecom Regulator and other relevant Regulatory Authorities for the purpose of ensuring the continuity of its licensed endeavours and operations;
  • To secure a regulatory framework that supports the business case;
  • To manage risks and opportunities arising from the regulatory environment for the benefit of the company.

Requirements

  • Good degree in Law, Economics, Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Masters in Business Administration or a higher degree in any of the above disciplines would be preferred additional qualification.
  • 6years of varied experience in law, engineering, computer science or economics
  • 4 years of relevant experience in Telecommunications field
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of Regulatory compliance environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Nigerian telecom, business environment.
  • Previous employment with Nigerian Communications Commission would be an added advantage.

Job Summary

  •  To support compliance to defined, policies, processes and procedures rolled out, provide opinion on process/policy alignment with best practices and make recommendations for improvement.
